Funding for skills training
The StrongerBC future skills grant (FSG) is open to British Columbians aged 19 years or older – regardless of financial need – and covers up to $3,500 per person for eligible short-term skills training at public post-secondary institutions.
The funding will be available for eligible programs and courses with a start date between September 1, 2024, and March 31, 2025. Requests for funding must be submitted by February 28, 2025. Applications will not be accepted after this time. Any eligible British Columbian can apply. Check the WorkBC eligibility criteria to find out if you qualify for funding.
If you’re eligible for funding, your next step is to choose and apply to a program. VIU programs you can apply for are listed below.
After you’ve applied to the program, you can apply for the grant using your BC Services Card Account. Applications for the StrongerBC future skills grant opened August 6, 2024. For more details on the application process, see the WorkBC guidelines
